Tim Leimbach

Tim Leimbach was born in Wuppertal, NRW. After studying architecture and working as a drummer/songwriter, he moved to Berlin in 2016 to study painting.

A strong preoccupation with human perception - especially that of interpersonal relationships - runs through his work. Closeness, familiarity,
loss and shame are dealt with
in gestural painting.
The starting point is usually an exploration of his own biography and the question: what can painting contribute
to complex issues, does the medium of painting do justice
to human emotions and considerations?

Tim Leimbach works in his studio in Berlin Kreuzberg and is also active as a music composer for dance and film.
